Tyler Rankin is a theatrical designer and 3D digital artist hailing from Flint, Michigan, currently living in Gainesville, Florida, working on his Masters of Fine Art in scenic design. He received his Bachelors of Science in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Michigan-Flint, focusing on Scenic Design, Lighting Design, and Scenic Art. He has worked as a theatre technician and artist across Michigan and Cape Cod, New York City, and Florida. 

Tyler has been award certificates of merit from Kennedy Center American Theatre Festival for the lighting design of Next to Normal and scenic design of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Tyler spent a year working in New York City as a technician and artist, where he could meet and learn many of the prominent designers and artists there. These opportunities have shaped Tyler's belief that theatre can help people escape from the world and see real magic differently.
